I wasn’t going to include the screen capture above because I don’t necessarily like making fun of people’s appearances, but considering the trailer for Joyful Noise does just as much I felt it was fair game. Do Dolly Parton and Joan Rivers use the same plastic surgeon? What is going on here? Why would someone choose to do that to their face? I would feel bad about saying it’s distracting, but since I believe the reason for plastic surgery is for people to present something to the world they believe should be looked at and appreciated I think it’s only natural to comment.
As for the film, that’s Joyful Noise, a project I didn’t even know existed until Warner Bros. dropped a trailer in my Inbox telling me it was hitting theaters on January 13, 2012.
The film is the latest feature from Todd Graff (Bandslam) and along with Parton, the film stars Queen Latifah, Keke Palmer, Jeremy Jordan, Courtney B. Vance, Dexter Darden and Kris Kristofferson and tells the story of an unlikely partnership between two strong-minded women (Latifah and Parton) who are forced to work together to save a small town Gospel Choir after budget cuts threaten to shut them down.
The film looks innocent enough, but man, I wish friends and family would do more to urge some of these celebs to not be so quick to enter into the downward spiral of plastic surgery and Botox. Yeesh!
