Decode the First Domestic Poster for ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’

The first domestic poster for Focus’ highly anticipated Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy has been revelead and it’s sticking with the binary presentation of Gary Oldman, just as did the international versions (see right), which tells me we should expect similar posters featuring the rest of the cast including Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Strong.

On top of the reveal, Yahoo informs us this Friday will feature the premiere of the domestic trailer. As I’ve already mentioned several times, primarily out of jealousy, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy will be premiering in the UK on September 16 while us Yanks have to wait until December 9 for the film to hit U.S. theaters.

After the reviews out of Venice painted the film to be the film we hoped it would be with the likes of Variety and The Hollywood Reporter calling it “an inventive, meaty distillation of Le Carre’s 1974 novel” and “a visual delight with an authentic British feel,” I think it’s safe to say anticipation is at a fevered pitch.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is based on the John le Carre’s Cold War spy novel. Set in the 1970s George Smiley (Oldman), a recently retired MI6 agent, is doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the Circus, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage.
