It’s interesting this clip would debut today as I am putting together my first batch of official Oscar predictions and was looking down the list of potential additional female candidates in the actress categories and came across Evan Rachel Wood‘s name for The Ides of March. I have no idea how big her role is in the film as she plays intern to Ryan Gosling‘s character, a hot shot up-and-coming campaign press secretary, but who’s to say she doesn’t have a shot at a Supporting Actress nod?
I’ll be able to find out soon enough just what kind of shot I think she may have when I see the film on the opening day of the Toronto International Film Festival, but I’m sure the buzz will begin even sooner than that as the film kicks off the Venice Film Festival tomorrow, August 31.
Following the festival circuit, Sony will usher the film into theaters on October 7. So if you’re anxious for a look give the clip a watch below and let me know what you think.
