‘Hunger Games’ Sequel Set for 2013, Marvel and Disney Also Set Dates and Momoa Penning ‘Conan 2’

Bryan Cranston (Drive) is in negotiations for a “small but flashy” role in Paramount’s World War Z, the adaptation of Max Brooks’ novel of the same name that depicts a global zombie takeover a decade after the fact. The film is being directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace) and stars Brad Pitt. [The Hollywood Reporter]

In a press release, Lionsgate announced a November 22, 2013 release for Catching Fire, the adaptation of the second book in Suzanne Collins bestselling “Hunger Games” trilogy and sequel to The Hunger Games, which hits theaters on Marsch 23, 2012. There were no additional details, but it is safe to assume the cast of the first film will all be back including lead actors Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz and Donald Sutherland. A director was not named, but Gary Ross co-wrote and is directing the first film.

Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones”) stars as the title character in the upcoming remake Conan the Barbarian based on the Robert E. Howard character and he has revealed in an interview that he is already working on a script for the sequel where he wants “to get into more of the mythical creatures.” The first film is set to hit theaters on August 19. Finally, Deadline is reporting Disney has dated one of its future but unspecified Marvel movies for May 16, 2014, and another for June 27, 2014. If I had to guess on each, I would say the May movie would be Captain America 2 and the June movie would be The Avengers 2.

Additionally, a new untitled Pixar film is set for May 30, 2014, an untitled 3D film by Henry Selick for October 4, 2013 and The Odd Life of Timothy Green for August 15, 2012. The latter of which stars Jennifer Garner, Joel Edgerton, Ron Livingston, Dianne Wiest, Rosemarie DeWitt, Lois Smith and Common and recently saw a trailer debut online, which I have included below.

The film centers on a childless couple (Garner and Edgerton) who bury a box in their backyard, containing all of their wishes for an infant. Soon, a child is born, though Timothy Green is not all that he appears.
