Will You Watch the Trailer for the Controversial Sundance Feature ‘The Woman’?

Back in January Lucky McKee’s The Woman debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and one man specifically was none-too-impressed. He began yelling during a Q&A that followed the film’s screening and was then escorted out only to continue his rant in the hallway (watch the video to the right) where he asked for the film to be “confiscated and burned.”

As you can see by the headline, the film wasn’t burned and it will in fact be distributed theatrically in at least 15 key markets through the Collective and Bloody Disgusting’s partnership with AMC Theaters.

The Woman centers on Chris Cleek (Sean Bridgers), a small town court officer living a quiet, seemingly normal life in the heart of Maine with his beloved family. That is, until Chris discovers a feral woman roaming the woods and makes it the family’s project to civilise her. But as the family’s methods of forcing civility upon the woman become ever more extreme, the perverse bonds uniting them will be cast into violent relief.

The film is said to contain scenes of torture and rape, and is apparently quite extreme. Are you interested in seeing it or are you with the guy above and wish for it to meet a fiery demise?
