Box-Office Oracle: ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ Take On ‘Captain America’… Who’s Left Standing?

My three-month streak went down in flames, quite the tragedy. Still, some box-office breaking down needs to be done, and we’re the ones to do it. Let’s get to it!
Laremy predicted the #1 movie correctly 0 Weeks In A Row
Thor opened a smidgeon higher, but Captain America: The First Avenger should have a better holdover, by about a percent and a half. Plus Captain America: The First Avenger was made for ten million less than Thor. Advantage: Captain.
Prediction: $35.925 million
I want to be angry that Potter cost me my streak, but I can’t stay mad at this franchise. This film will pass $900m worldwide any moment now, and it’s still on track to better Transformers: Dark of the Moon by next weekend.
Prediction: $22.761 million
They may not have even HAD a production budget here given the level of product placement.
Prediction: $18.15 million
A prime candidate to be caught in the demographic middle. Is it a rom-com? Is it a drama? Date night? The answer to all three of those questions is “Yes … and no.” So I can’t go as high as $6k per theater.
Prediction: $16.5 million
It just shouldn’t have cost $35m to make this, regardless of how much I laughed at the opening hour.
Prediction: $8.677 million
Same deal, but at least this one will hit $100m worldwide.
Prediction: $7.16 million
We’re about to close the books on Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Will it hit a billy worldwide?
Prediction: $5.499 million
Only two percent of America has seen this. That’s the good news.
Prediction: $4.662 million
Dreamy little, steamy little Winnie the Pooh. Even the poster is boring.
Prediction: $3.183 million

How say you? Three new releases to prognosticate on, predictions away!
