‘The Avengers’ Teaser Poster May Have an ‘A’ But It Gets an ‘F’

The official site for Marvel’s The Avengers just debuted this extraordinarily plain teaser poster. The superhero team-up will bring together Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and a fleet of other comic characters to fight evil. The film is directed by Joss Whedon and Walt Disney Pictures has set a May 4, 2012 release date.

A teaser for the film will screen after the Captain America: The First Avenger credits beginning this weekend. I’m actually seeing that film tonight, but have seen other press screenings didn’t have the trailer attached… I wonder if mine will.

You can get a larger look at the poster below right here.

Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel’s The Avengers is the super hero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard and Amanda Righetti and is directed by Joss Whedon (Serenity, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”). For all of my coverage on the film click here.
