Box-Office Oracle: ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ Looks to Become First $100+ Million Opener of 2011

The biggest weekend since 2009? The first $100m+ opener of 2011? The streak hitting 11 with ease? That’s all in play this weekend, let’s break it down!
Laremy predicted the #1 movie correctly 10 Weeks In A Row
A very nice holdover considering the twelve days the film had already been in theaters. This will need a big international push to hit a billion, but the film has been gaining steam internationally with each version, so it’s not completely out of play. Still, I’d bet on something around $920m.
Prediction: $24.398 million
R-Rated comedies tend to fall, though Bridesmaids was a notable exception to the rule. No real competition this weekend, but a 52 percent dip feels likely unless it gets Potter runoff dollars.
Prediction: $13.585 million
Brad told people to flock to this gem, but they didn’t listen. The bright side? They only spent $80m making this beauty. Now that is sarcasm to the fullest.
Prediction: $10.434 million
I think the world has passed Winnie the Pooh by. Don’t blame me, blame the inexorable march of progress and shorter attention spans. It’s a bad weekend to be a Pooh accountant. I hope Winnie got his money up front.
Prediction: $9.2 million
$274m worldwide feels like a loss, doesn’t it?
Prediction: $7.206 million
If I had to watch Horrible Bosses or Bad Teacher over again, I’d choose Horrible Bosses. But it’s a close-ish call.
Prediction: $5.267 million
Hey, at least Tom Petty got paid. Make those dollars, T-Pet.
Prediction: $3.146 million
If you saw this and Winnie the Pooh back-to-back, you’d really feel like a kid again.
Prediction: $2.216 million
Should have faced the dreaded teen frontload, but a 49 percent dip last weekend was impressive. I see a similar result this time around.
Prediction: $2.12 million

How say you? Bullish on Pooh? Bearish on Potter? A correct Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 prediction would look good on your resume, so predictions away!
