Brand New Looks at ‘Killer Elite’ with Statham, De Niro and Owen

Open Road has made the news a couple times in recent weeks, including earlier this morning after it picked up the filmed adaptation of “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer’s The Host, the freshman studio’s second major acquisition behind Gary McKendry’s Killer Elite starring Robert De Niro, Jason Statham and Clive Owen which is set for a September 23 release opposite the Bourne-esque thriller Abduction starring Taylor Lautner and Sony’s Moneyball starring Brad Pitt. And today we get our first five looks at the film.

Inspired by true events, Killer Elite is an action adventure spy film following Danny (Statham), one of the world’s most skilled special-ops agents. Lured out of self-imposed exile to execute a near-impossible feat of retribution and personal salvation, Danny reassembles his old team of operatives to help rescue his former mentor (De Niro), and to penetrate the highly feared and respected military unit, the British Special Air Service (SAS). Facing off against a covert group of ex-SAS soldiers known as “The Feather Men,” who, under their leader Spike (Owen), provide a deadly cloak of security around all SAS members, Danny and his team must take down a rogue cell of solider assassins before their actions result in a global political meltdown.

I’ve included all five pics in this post, but you can get slightly larger looks at each if you feel the need in the gallery right here.
