Poster for the Apocalyptic Romance ‘Bellflower’

Bellflower, the debut feature film written and directed by Evan Glodell, was a hit at Sundance and was quickly picked up by Oscilloscope Laboratories.

The film centers on a couple of guys who build Mad Max inspired flame-throwers and weapons of mass destruction in preparation for a global apocalypse in which their imaginary gang “Mother Medusa” can emerge on top. But when Woodrow meets a charismatic young woman and falls hard in love, he and Aiden quickly integrate into a new group of friends, setting off on a journey of betrayal, love, hate, infidelity and extreme violence more devastating and fiery than any of their apocalyptic fantasies.

Oddly enough, for a film involved with the apocalypse it sounds like it is just as much a romance. Could be interesting.

Today Oscilloscope sent out the poster for the film, which will hit theaters on July 22. It will also be screening three times at the SXSW Film Festival.

The car you see in the poster below is called Medusa (obviously) and apparently it includes two fuel injected exhaust flamethrowers with a 30,000 volt ignition system, smoke screen, a bleach drift-kit, adjustable rear suspension, three surveillance cameras, a customized apocalypse exhaust system, 6-71 Supercharger, posi rear end, a self-contained oxygen supply for chemical or underwater warfare, a roll cage, stow-able fold-down back seat and occasionally holds a sawed-off shotgun in the trunk in case of emergency.
