The movie is called Things Fall Apart and it stars 50 Cent, excuse me, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as a cancer-stricken football player. Jackson lost 60 pounds for the roll as I’m sure you, along with everyone else, already knew.
The film co-stars Ray Liotta as 50’s doctor, Lynn Whitfield as his mother and Mario Van Peebles as his friend. The official synopsis calls it a “humorous, touching story” and compares it to “the Oscar winning film The Blind Side” while the trailer sports Nelly’s “Just a Dream“, which must have cost them a pretty penny for the rights.
50 co-wrote the film with Brian Miller and Van Peebles directed it. There’s no release date, but I wouldn’t hold out hope for it arriving in theaters. Have a look at the trailer below and see what you think.
