What I Watched, What You Watched: Installment #79

Before you read anything below I want to remind everyone that tonight at 10:00 PM EST, Turner Classic Movies will be showing Wings, the very first Best Picture winner. I have never seen it and it isn’t available on DVD. You may not like silent movies. You may not like old movies. But by watching Wings tonight you will have added one more notch in your cinematic belt that many others will likely not have. Sure, if you miss it you can always watch it on YouTube in ten minute increments, but I think we all know the better way to watch it. I already have my DVR set to record it in HD and can’t wait to knock it off my list of movies to watch.

That said, let’s get into what I watched this week and then give you time to share your lists…

The Big Red One (1980)
Witness (1985)
Prizzi’s Honor (1985)
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Glengarry Glen Ross (1992)
His Girl Friday (1940)
The Parallax View (1974)

So that does it for me for this week, at least of those I am mentioning here. I did watch three other films for Blu-ray review as well as saw The Adjustment Bureau (a solid film thanks to great performances from Emily Blunt and Matt Damon) and Gnomeo and Juliet. But enough about me, let’s hear what you watched in the comments below and remember today is the last day to vote on the best films of 2010. Click here if you haven’t voted yet.
