Lengthy Kubrick Compilation

I was able to get through about 60% of this 13 minute compilation of Stanley Kubrick films, which I guess is saying something considering I can normally only watch about 20-seconds of most online compilation videos. On top of that, I felt this one was somewhat timely considering my 2001 conversation yesterday.

While it is certainly too long, the editing by the video’s creator Richard Vezina is quite good and he definitely spent numerous hours piecing it together. He just needs to harken back to the old motto, less is more. Nevertheless, I imagine Kubrick fans will get a kick out of the way Vezina has spliced together most all of Kubrick’s films, sans Spartacus, into what seems to have been a rather pain-staking process.

As for a couple of personal highlights, I fast forwarded to about the 11:47 mark and think the HAL-vision is a pretty cool effect and for some reason the dissolve from Barry Lyndon to The Shining around the three-minute mark impressed me.

Have a look.
