I have just added the trailer for Paper Man an upcoming dramedy starring Jeff Daniels, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Lisa Kudrow and Kieran Culkin in which Daniels plays Richard, a failed middle-aged novelist, and Stone plays Abby, a 17-year-old girl whose role in a family tragedy years earlier has stolen away her youth. The two of them have imaginary friends helping guide them into the future. Richard’s friend is the costumed superhero Captain Excellent (Reynolds), and Abby’s is a morose fellow teenager Christopher (Kieran Culkin).
I had heard nothing about this film until I was sent the link for the film’s Facebook page only to learn it hits limited theaters in two weeks on April 23. It’s written and directed by Kieran and Michele Mulroney whom have since been hired to draft the script for Sherlock Holmes 2, but otherwise haven’t been major players in Hollywood outside of Kieran’s involvement in several TV shows since 1988 when he was cast in an episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and has since been seen in the likes of “Seinfeld”, “ER” and “Navy NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service”.
Paper Man followed by Sherlock Holmes 2 may be the duo’s big break. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.
