Race to Witch Mountain co-writer Mark Bomback has been hired by New Line and Playtone to adapt Agent Zigzag, a WWII spy drama, reports Variety.
Playtone’s Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are producing.
The film is based on a Ben Macintyre book that tells the story of Edward Arnold Chapman, a career criminal who was trained by the Nazis to be a spy during WWII. On a mission to sabotage an airplane factory in England, he contacted the British and began a life as a double agent.
Bomback’s recent scripting efforts include Live Free or Die Hard, Deception and Fox’s upcoming Unstoppable.
