That’s a winning weekend for The Oracle! I’m just going to revel in this for a moment. It’s been a long time.
#1 movie predicted correctly: 1 Week In A Row
It did better than I projected… what’s up Domestic market? You guys bored out there?
Result: 15.6 million (My rank: #1, $3.6m off)
Looks like the curse of Dane Cook lives. That guy will not be seen at a theater near you any time soon.
Result: 11.2 million (My rank: #3 $1.0m off)
It always takes a few movies – but eventually the American public wises up. Fool us three times? No way.
Result: 8.3 million (My rank: #2, $3.0m off)
4. Igor
My dollars were solid on this one, I just didn’t crush Tyler Perry enough.
Result: 8.0 million (My rank: #5, $.1m off)
It must have gotten decent word of mouth from you folks; A 53% bleed is decent for a film like this.
Result: 7.7 million (My rank: #6, $.6m off)
Still, he churns them out at a low cost and then they make money. It’s a business model any of us would be lucky to come up with.
Result: 7.5 million (My rank: #4, $.7m off)
7. The Women
I’ll go out on a limb and say it might be a bit until they remake another ’30s film.
Result: 5.3 million (My rank: #8, $.3m off)
8. Ghost Town
It’s a sad result for a solid movie. But with 1500 theaters they were screwed from Jump Street. It actually finished 3rd in per theater average. So that’s something.
Result: 5.1 million (My rank: #7, $.5m off)
We’ll miss you Dark Knight. You were the best.
Result: 2.9 million (My rank: #10, $.6m off)
10. The House Bunny
Do I get credit for getting all ten in the top ten? Nope. I only get grief. It’s tough working for B-Luv because his boss Luke is relentless. See ya next week friends.
Result: 2.8 million (My rank: #9, Dead On)
