Box-Office Wrap-Up: Feb. 1 – Feb. 3, 2008

Well I do declare. Hannah Montana is printing money these days. Let’s get right to it because it’s Super Bowl Sunday – no time to fool around with Box Office madness.
#1 movie predicted correctly: One Week In A Row
Good Lord that is a ton of money. I’m talking about 42k per theater! I don’t recall a number that big… in well… ever. There is no power in the world greater than the power of little girl fanaticism. It’s stronger than you, me, and the Jedis combined.
Result: 29.0 million (My rank: #1, $14m off)
This was what we thought it was. I almost feel bad for Alba having to do press here. Can’t they just let a pregnant woman be?
Result: 13.0 million (My rank: #2, $0.2m off)
In my defense less than $4m separates the third from the tenth slot. That’s not a wide margin, and I didn’t see a 37% drop happening. Evidently all the non sporting types went to this bad boy.
Result: 8.4 million (My rank: #8, $2.1m off)
4. Juno
I mean, only half a milli off. What am I gonna do here? I bet when the final numbers come out a few of these switch places.
Result: 7.4 million (My rank: #6, $.5m off)
Oddly enough this, Rambo and Cloverfield all faced identical 61.5% drops. What do they all have in common? Boy movies.
Result: 7.1 million (My rank: #4, $1.5m off)
The budget was $50m and they won’t make near that domestically. However, I’ve heard Rambo is super strong internationally (seriously) so that and the DVD make yet another sequel a probable occurrence.
Result: 7.0 million (My rank: #3, $3.2m off)
I usually get the seven title right. Kind of my thing. By the way, I did some research, this is the sixth weekend in theaters for Bucket List. That’s right, when this came out I was only a kid!
Result: 6.8 million (My rank: #7, $0.4m off)
Last night I played around six hours straight of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. That is one solid game. Way better than Untraceable.
Result: 5.4 million (My rank: #10, $.1m off)
I still need to see this. So many social engagements, so little time.
Result: 4.9 million (My rank: #9, $0.7m off)
I had Over Her Dead Body making the top ten, as it was a new release. It didn’t make it. Say goodnight to Eva’s career.
Result: 4.7 million (My rank: Not Ranked)
