Has Hollywood Lost It?

The following was sent in via a RopeofSilicon reader and I am wondering if this is just one person’s opinion or if more people feel this way.

Based on the statement made I am not quite sure exactly which films this person is referring to, but I do think it is interesting they say that the films made by Tyler Perry and Oprah are fresh and new. Of course, I was ready to chalk all this up to the fact that we are in January and traditionally the films released in January and February pretty much suck, but since there are no specific films mentioned I can’t go ahead and assume what exactly this person is referring to.

However, they have an opinion and I am wondering if it is a shared one. Here’s what they sent in, do you agree?

To anyone that is listening I have seen several new movies in the past two weeks. For the most part Hollywood has lost it. Hollywood has got to do better if they want people to continue to pay to see these movies. It almost looks like no one is trying anymore. The movies have the same old formats that have been used for decades such as the bad guys get the girl and there’s a rescue scene or the famous chase scene where the main characters are being chased by some stupid guys.

The movies with whites are terribly boring and have one highlighted moment. The movies with blacks have too many stupid chase scenes. These scenes are lame and tired. Who is writing this stuff? This is the same way with the TV shows.

What ordinary person cares about the Golden Globes? The shows are for the stars. Some of the stars are too ridiculous to take interest in. It seems like not many people care if the screenwriters are in strike because the writing is just bad.

Furthermore the writing is too sexually immoral and liberal. Hollywood could take some lessons from Tyler Perry and Oprah on fresh new movie ideas. Please contact someone to give us better quality entertainment.
