Variety‘s Kris Tapley has gone ahead and speculated which ten films may be the lead contenders for the 2009 Oscars even though we haven’t received word on the nominees for the upcoming 2008 Oscars (announcement coming January 22).
It is obviously just an early list of speculation, but as Tapley says, “It’s not a science. But it is fun.” The choices are also fairly obvious, but for those of you that like to look beyond the anticipation of Indiana Jones IV and The Dark Knight hopefully you will find this list interesting.
Enjoy, and as Tapley says, “Here’s hoping 2008 is as cinematically satisfying as 2007 was.”
