Well, the New York Film Critics Circle agrees with Boston, the National Board of Review and the D.C. critics as they too name the Coen brothers’ thriller No Country for Old Men the best film of 2007. They also fell in line with most awarding Amy Ryan best supporting actress for Gone Baby Gone and Julie Christie best actress for Away from Her.
One difference would be the absence of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly as it has managed to find itself on most lists so far, primarily for best foreign film, but the NYFCC went with The Lives of Others in that department.
