Max Headroom Joins the ‘Watchmen’

I still haven’t gotten very far into reading “Watchmen”, but for that matter I am also only half-way through “The Lovely Bones” and have “I Am Legend” sitting on the coffee table. Suffice to say I have a few things to read.

This means that I am not familiar with who exactly Moloch the Mystic is in the story, but apparently director Zack Snyder has cast Matt Frewer, best known as the stuttering ’80s nuisance Max Headroom, for the role.

Moloch is apparently a satanic super villain and magician according to MTV. In the novel he ‘clashes with famous “masks” like Nite Owl, Ozymandias, and Doctor Manhattan, before giving up his life of crime sometime before the action of the novel begins. Rehabilitated, the former vice lord moves to New York City, where he lives alone until his murder in 1985. His dead body is discovered by Rorschach, who is framed for Moloch’s death.’

Hmmmm, wait a minute, maybe I have read about him already… I’ll have to check.

MTV reports Frewer is currently filming.

Watchmen hits theaters in 2009.
