I am sure most of you have heard the story of Amelia Earhart, the pilot who in 1937 made an attempt to fly around the world after a botched attempt earlier that year that damaged her plane. Ultimately she vanished over the Pacific Ocean only to never be heard from again despite the fact that the US government spent $4 million and scoured 250,000 square miles of ocean to find her.
So who is set to play the fateful pilot? Well, Page Six is reporting it is none other than Hilary Swank. Swank apparently learned of the news as she unvelied her new Guerlain fragrance, My Insolence, at the Bel Air Hotel yesterday. Once she learned she exclaimed to the crowd, “If this is what it takes for my team to get me my next gig, then let’s hope that Guerlain takes us all to lunch every week.”
The only word on this project prior to now was on ComingSoon‘s pre-strike list of films, listing the pic as an indie set to film in March titled only Amelia Earhart.
