A Few ‘Incredible Hulk’ Story Details

IESB has a few story details in regards to the upcoming reincarnation of The Incredible Hulk, which stars Ed Norton as the title character. I just had a chance to speak with Ang Lee, who directed the ill-received 2003 version of the big green guy, but never had the chance to ask him about the film or his thoughts on them pretty much starting over from scratch, but that is exactly what they are doing and IESB has a spoiler filled report on the story.

Here’s a snippet detailng the beginning of the film (it’s slightly spoilerish, so if you want to go in completely fresh you may want to skip it):

In the opening sequence, we find a man (unknown to the reader but it’s presumably Bruce Banner) walking in snow, surrounded by snow. He slouches to his knees, gun in his hand, attempting suicide. The trigger is pulled but a flash of green stops the bullet flat and it falls to the ground.

Fast forward 5 years. Banner is in Brazil working at a bottling plant staying under the radar in hiding. Living a quite, invisible, life Banner is searching for exotic flowers that he believes will help destroy the gamma radiation in his blood to end the struggle he’s lived with for the past 5 years. He tries desperately to always remain calm through the use of mediation and a pulse monitor.

Looks like they aren’t going to waste any time getting into the Hulk-i-ness of the project, which is good news for anyone that saw Lee’s version, which proved he was far better telling arthouse stories than venturing into the mainstream.

The Incredible Hulk hits theaters on June 13, 2008.
