For some reason I was under the impression that Antonio Banderas and his wife Melanie Griffith were going to sail the world together and we wouldn’t hear from them until they decided to make a third film in his Zorro franchise, but I guess I was proven wrong as The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Banderas and Morgan Freeman are set to star in the crime thriller The Code.
As far as story goes we are limited to the knowledge that the film is about two jewel thieves, but if it is written well enough it actually coudl be a good match up with these two providing the one liners aren’t too cheesy and the heist maneuvers are a lot of fun.
The film will be directed by Mimi Leader who has been M.I.A. from feature films since 2000’s Pay It Forward.
The Code will start filming this week at Nu Boyana Film Studios, a 45-year-old production facility in Sofia, Bulgaria, acquired in 2006 by Nu Image Bulgaria.
