Fanning and Hounsou ‘Push’ with Two Others

You really have a mixed bag with the casting for the new thriller Push for director Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin) as he has cast young actress Dakota Fanning alongside two-time Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou and then you have Chris Evans of Fantastic Four Johnny Storm fame and Camilla Belle who is pretty much known only as the pretty girl in the When a Stranger Calls remake that tanked. Fortunately, three of them bring some talent to the table, sorry Camilla haven’t seen When a Stranger Calls and you weren’t a huge part of The Chumscrubber.

Evans has shown a little bit of talent, being the only good thing about the Fantastic Four films, Hounsou is amazing at all times and Fanning (while she may be getting a bit “old news”) is not too shabby as she turned 13 just this year.

The film centers on a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities who hide from a U.S. government agency in Hong Kong and band together to try to escape the control of the division.

Shooting is set to begin next month in Hong Kong for a 2008 release date with Summit Entertainment in line to distribute.
