More Details on Carrey’s Christmas Carol

Motion capture is going to tested to the limits as Variety now has more information on Jim Carrey‘s new role/roles in Robert Zemeckis’ next Christmas flick, an adaptation of the Charles Dickens tale “A Christmas Carol.” Not only will Carrey be taking on the role of Ebeneezer Scrooge, but he will also be captured playing the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Future.

Walt Disney Pictures will distribute the project which Zemeckis will direct using performance capture/Disney digital 3-D. Variety also says that the film will also feature a touch of live action and computer graphics, the latter of which ImageMovers employed in the Gil Kenan-directed Monster House.

Zemeckis reportedly wrote the script specifically with Carrey in mind and the actor said yes straight away.
