‘Transformers’ Not on Pay-Per-View

I first saw reference to this story at CHUD saying “for the first time in Hollywood’s history, a local studio, namely Paramount, will release next month’s live-action Transformers movie, on cable pay-per-view, the same day it premiere’s in US theatres, on July 3rd. But don’t hold your breath… the price tag for that special night might deter more than one: $49!”

Well folks, after an email to Paramount Pictures word has come back with a big fat negative, actually two of them from the folks I emailed and they weren’t exactly bouncing around the subject. The first response was, “This is not true.” Then the second one came in, “This is wrong.” Hmmm, I think I am getting the point.

I am wondering though if this will ever happen. Will studios ever debut a major blockbuster the size of Transformers day-and-date on pay-per-view even if the price is $50? Tell yah what, I would never want to see a movie of that size on the small screen before seeing it on the big one.

Fact remains for now though, if you want to see Transformers I guess you are going to have to head to the theater on July 3rd along with everyone else… Could this be the box-office smash of the summer? Bigger than Spider-Man 3?

Ahhh, even better question… What is Uberpulse? Oh, and what is a RopeofSilicon? Good questions for another day.
