Miller Adapting ‘Trouble’ for Clive Owen

I remember how Frank Miller was hesitant to let Sin City be adapted for the big screen and then how he also wasn’t too keen on directing some of the film. However, with that out of the way, an adaptation of 300 in the bag and a directing project coming up for Lionsgate he appears to be quite comfortable. Now, he is set to adapt the Raymond Chandler novella “Trouble is My Business” for Clive Owen to star in.

Owen starred in Sin City as Dwight and is expected to return for the sequel. As far as being chosen for Trouble if My Business it provides the actor with a similar chance to frame the narrative with a compelling voiceover, using Chandler’s hardboiled prose as hard-drinking private eye Philip Marlowe cracks cases, busts heads and romances femme fatales in 1940s Los Angeles.

Owen was quoted in the Variety article saying, “Frank Miller knows more about noir than anyone I have ever met, and clearly the writing of Raymond Chandler has been an enormous influence on his life and his work. Miller adapting Chandler seemed like a perfect match.”
