Shannyn Sossamon‘s name continues to pop up it seems like, but since A Knight’s Tale back in 2001 the only movie I remember her from is The Holiday and she was in that for like 30 seconds as the cheating bitch girlfriend of Jack Black. However, since that time she has been in at least five films, one I saw and forgot her in, the other being The Holiday and then a couple of other crap piles. Next she will be seen in One Missed Call and Wristcutters followed by Catacombs if Lionsgate ever decides to release it and now she has been cast along with Vinnie Jones and Stephen Rea in the crime thriller The Heavy.
Marcus Warren penned the script and will also direct the feature centering on a henchman played by Gary Stretch, who is forced to forgive a debt to his shady businessman boss (Rea) by assassinating his own brother, a high profile politician. The plan begins to unravel when he gets involved with a student (Sossamon) whose flat he plans to use for the crime, and a corrupt detective (Jones) gets on his trail.
Rounding out the cast are Christopher Lee, George Harris, Geoff Bell and Jean Marsh. The film is up for sale at the Cannes Film Festival.
