Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont are penning the script for Sisters of Mercy for Columbia Pictures and Overbrook Entertainment. The pic is being designed as a possible starring vehicle for Will Smith.
The picture centers on a widower father who is rescued after his wife’s death by members of her book club who soon begin running his life with advice on parenting and dating.
Smith and James Lassiter are producing for Overbrook alongside Alex Siskin.
Kaplan and Elfont also penned the Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan starrer Made of Honor for Columbia Pictures.
