MTV today announced that the brilliantly funny Sarah Silverman will take the hosting reins for the “2007 MTV Movie Awards.†Star of both big screen and small, Silverman will lend her unique brand of provocative comedy to this year’s ceremony which will be broadcast live from the Gibson Theater in Universal City, California on Sunday, June 3, 2007. As previously announced, the “2007 MTV Movie Awards†will be executive produced by Emmy Award® winning producer Mark Burnett. Additionally, as was also announced, MTV and Yahoo! have partnered to launch an interactive website via Yahoo! Movies which will explore the convergence of entertainment and technology like never before allowing fans to be part of the show. Performers, nominees, and presenters for the “2007 MTV Movie Awards†will be announced at a later date.
“The other day I sat down too hard and sprained my labia majora. I’m okay, but I took it as a sign from God to host the MTV Movie Awards,” said Sarah Silverman.
