Were you one of the lucky few who made it to the Grindhouse this weekend? Are you wondering how they gave Rose McGowan a peg-leg, made Machete fly, helped Quentin act (ha ha, just kidding … that’s impossible!)? Well, there’s a pretty interesting article over at VFXWorld looking to quench your appetite with behind-the-scenes greatness.
The site conducted interviews with members of Rodriguez’s own Troublemaker Digital and The Orphanage (the two special effects houses that worked on Grindhouse) and give you the low-down on how several of the effect scenes were created. This is pretty extensive stuff and I have to admit I started to black out about halfway through, but there’s a lot of rich detail to be found.
I was happy to learn that no digital work was applied to Rose McGowan or Vanessa Ferlito’s face, proving once again Mother Nature provides us with the very best special effects. Click right here for the article.
