Leonardo DiCaprio seems to have his name attached to a million projects, but he has only been officially attached to one of them. This latest casting bite comes from Variety and says that Leo is in “early talks” to star in Body of Lies for Ridley Scott and Warner Bros. The script was penned by The Departed screenwriter William Monahan, which was adapted from the new Washington Post columnist David Ignatius’ novel of the same name.
While Leo is in early talks he has apparently worked the deal into his shooting schedule as this film will apparently begin production following the already announced Revolutionary Road in which Leo will star with his Titanic co-star Kate Winslet. That film will be directed by Sam Mendes for DreamWorks and begins shooting in April.
As for Body of Lies Ridley Scott is scouting locations in Morocco for the film which will also shoot in Washington, D.C., Europe and the Middle East. In the film DiCaprio will play an ex-journalist-turned CIA agent who’s sent to Amman to work with Jordan’s intelligence chief to track an Al Qaeda leader rumored to be planning attacks against America.
