M. Night Shyamalan is going all out with his upcoming film The Happening for 20th Century Fox as he has cast Mark Wahlberg to star in his soon-to-be-first R-rated feature.
Wahlberg will play a man who takes his family on the run when the world turns upside and a cataclysmic natural crisis threatens to end the world.
Night has been under serious scrutiny since his partnership with Disney evaporated and the lackluster results of Lady in the Water last year and his tell-all book. However I wish nothing but the best for the cocky helmer. It takes balls to say some of the things he has said and while the world may never agree with him it never hurts to have a little confidence.
The Happening will film in Philadelphia in August and Fox has already made plans to release the pic worldwide on June 13, 2008. Ooooh, spooky Friday the 13th release. Booga, booga.
