Salma Hayek is everywhere lately with her television producing job on Golden Globe winner “Ugly Betty,” the Oscar nominations, showing off her breasts and now word on a new starring role as a housewife in La Banda.
The project is reportedly aiming at her Latin American fanbase with a potential for US crossover. In the picture Hayek will portray a wealthy housewife who falls on hard times when her husband leaves. She takes a job as a singer for a wedding band while keeping her involvement secret from her high-society friends and family, but it becomes a tricky balancing act as the band gains in popularity.
Hayek will produce the film which will start shooting in Mexico this summer with Issa Lopexz directing. A soundtrack album, with Hayek performing, also is planned.
