This is just a friendly reminder to set aside a nice hour or so tomorrow morning to look over the nominations for the 79th Academy Awards as they will be announced tomorrow (Tuesday, January 23) by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ President Sid Ganis and Academy member and past Oscar® nominee Salma Hayek.
The nominations begin being announced at 5:38:30 a.m. PST and RopeofSilicon will have the nominations up as soon as we can right afterwards as well as a reaction article following it all up later that day as we move through this latest award season.
The next stop is the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be this Sunday, Jan. 28, at 8 pm ET/PT, 7 pm CT and 6 pm MT. We will continue in our Golden Globes fashion with a live diary, recap, up-to-date winners and all the goodness that is the SAGs, but the big show will by February 25 when the Oscars® will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 5 p.m. PST (8 p.m. EST), beginning with a half-hour red carpet arrivals segment, “The Road to the Oscars.†We will have all of our trademark coverage there as well.
