Variety is reporting that Will Smith‘s Overbrook production house and Sony Pictures have purchased Steve Bloom’s spec script “Sisters of Mercy” for mid-six figures.
The story follows a widower father who is rescued after his wife’s death by members of her book club, who soon begin running his life with their advice on parenting and dating.
Overbrook’s last feature starred Smith and grossed $126 million, you probably heard of it – The Pursuit of Happyness.
There is no word on whether or not Smith will star in the pic, but I have to think it is a likelihood. Smith will next be seen later this year in the thriller I am Legend for Warner Bros.
