Here is the latest casting news out of the trades:
- Jimmy Fallon and Sharon Stone have committed to star in Eliot Rockett, an indie drama to shoot in February. Fallon will play a man devoted to his work but unable to commit to his girlfriend or anything else in his personal life. He returns to his hometown after his estranged father suffers a stroke. Stone will play his mother, a central figure in his dysfunctional past. (Variety)
- Richard Dreyfuss, Maia Morgenstern and Thomas Sangster will star in Flower of the Fence a love story set against the backdrop of the Holocaust, with production set for the third quarter of 2007 in Hungary. The pic is based on the true-life story of Herman Rosenblat, who fell in love with a woman he met through the fences of Nazi concentration camps. (Variety)
- Tom Arnold, Kip Pardue, Nora Zehetner, Dule Hill, Johnny Messner, Bob Sapp, Kevin Nealon and Christopher Titus have been cast in Remarkable Power, an indie comedic thriller from screenwriter-director Brandon Beckner. The story centers on an eclectic collection of Los Angeles locals whose lives are intertwined after a late-night talk-show host masterminds an elaborate stunt to save his canceled show, with murder and mayhem ensuing. Arnold will play a low-rent private investigator. (The Hollywood Reporter)
- Julia Ormond will play Lindsay Lohan‘s mother in the indie I Know Who Killed Me. Ormond will play the mother of a businesswoman who lets her daughter live an independent life. She is horrified when her daughter is kidnapped, but more so when her daughter is found alive but insists she’s someone else. Shooting starts this month in Los Angeles and New York. (Variety)
- Stuart Beattie is reportedly on board to pen a new script for Punisher 2. (BigFanBoy)
- Brittany Snow has been cast as the lead in Finding Amanda opposite Matthew Broderick for director Peter Tolan. The film revolves around a strung-out TV producer (Broderick) who is sent by his wife on a mission to save their niece Amanda (Snow), who’s a hooker and stripper living in Las Vegas. (Variety)
