Production Weekly is just full of news lately as they bring us another bit of info reporting that Donald Sutherland and Samantha Morton are set to star in the upcoming Irish feature Puffball, to be directed by British helmer Nicolas Roeg.
The film is an adaptation of Fay Weldon’s 1980 novel of the same name and was adapted by Fay’s son Dan Weldon.
I have to apologize for the way the synopsis is described below, but PW‘s grammar doesn’t read too well:
This haunting thriller tells the story of Liffey (Morton) and her husband Richard, whose lives are almost destroyed by infidelity, the paranormal and bad weather when they purchase a remote, dilapidated cottage in the English countryside.
Maybe it’s just me but that just doesn’t read right.
Either way, the film will be getting underway next month with pre-production and will actually begin shooting in January on location around the Monaghan/Armagh border.
