David Goyer, the newest member of the Wesley Snipes fan club (not really) and writer of Batman Begins, got a few words in with Premiere Magazine and thanks to Empire Online we get to read the most important snippets as he lends word as to where he would like to go with the sequels to Batman Begins. Yup, I said sequels, the Empire article reads like this:
“The next one would have Batman enlisting the aid of Gordon and Dent in bringing down the Joker… but not killing him, which is a mistake they made in the first one,” Batwriter David Goyer tells the latest issue of US movie magazine Premiere. “In the third, the Joker would go on trial, scarring Dent in the process.”
This doesn’t exactly come as a surprise considering the massive appeal Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of The Joker in WB’s Batman in 1989, even LatinoReview received word on the rumor way back before filming on the first one was even finished as one of their scoopers had this to say:
Warner is apparently “very” happy with the job Chris Nolan is doing on “Begins” and is trying to coax him into doing the sequel as soon as possible. Try two years apart. It’s definite that the next sequel will concentrate on The Joker and they’re already throwing names around.
