As the previews continue to roll in we now have put together the goods for 12 new films coming out of the Lions Gate sector for 2005. While a lot of these previews have been up on the site for a while we thought it would be best to put together a one stop shop for you to click and see everything at once.

First up in January is the supernatural thriller Alone in the Dark, starring Christian Slater and Tara Reid and her new cans.
Edward Carnby (Slater), detective of the paranormal, unexplained and supernatural, investigates the recent, mysterious death of a friend and clues lead him to “Shadow Island,” bringing him face to face with bizarre horrors that prove both psychologically disturbing and lethal.

Next comes a dramedy, Diary of a Mad Black Woman featuring the talents of Kimberly Elise, Steve Harris and Tyler Perry in a film based on the immensely popular play of the same name written by Perry focusing on Helen McCarter (Kimberly Elise), who has seemingly had the perfect life with husband Charles McCarter (Steve Harris).
On the eve of their 18th wedding anniversary, Helen’s paradise begins to crumble as Charles announces that he wants a divorce. He abruptly and literally tosses Helen out of the mansion to make room for the other woman.

How good is Robin Williams as an actor? We all know he likes to make people laugh and can’t do an interview without making a joke every other second, but how good is he really?
Well, one thing is for certain, he can transform into another character in an instant as you can see by the pic above… yeah, that’s him.
In House of D Williams teams up with actor/director David Duchovny and his wife Téa Leoni in a film about an artist living a bohemian existence in Paris. Tom Warshaw (Duchovny) is trying to make sense of his troubled adult life by reflecting upon his extraordinary childhood.
When an unexpected tragedy radically alters his world, Tommy must make a life-defining choice – one that will compel the adult Tom Warshaw, thirty years later, to confront his unfinished past.

Now to a film that has put together one hell of a cast, and if you were lucky enough to check out the exhibitor preview we had up a long while back you know that this one is going to be going for Oscar gold as Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, Brendan Fraser, Jason Isaacs, Ludacris, Thandie Newton, Ryan Phillippe and Larenz Tate all team up for Crash.
Described as a provocative, unflinching look at the complexities of racial conflict in America. The film tracks the volatile intersections of a multi-ethnic cast, examining fear and bigotry from multiple perspectives as characters careen in and out of one another’s lives. No one is safe in the battle zones of racial strife. And no one is immune to the simmering rage that sparks violence – and changes lives…

On to our next horror flick for the year, and not the last for Lions Gate comes High Tension, a film centered on two teen girls who settle in for a relaxing weekend at a country farmhouse, unaware that a violent intruder is speeding toward them to transform their dreams into a relentless, bloody nightmare.

Speaking of horror, we have our third to last scare flick here with one hell of a curious looking zombie flick as the film Undead comes to life.
Undead is a film being compared to the likes of Night of the Living Dead and The Evil Dead and is self-described as featuring an overflow of gore and visual effects to make any horror fan squirm with delight.

What could be described as a porn lover’s dream title this film isn’t exactly a sexual exploration in search of “happy endings” yet it is a comedy about a group of people making a movie about massage. Yeah massage, and it stars Tom Arnold, Jesse Bradford, Bobby Cannavale, Steve Coogan, Laura Dern, Lisa Kudrow, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jason Ritter so who the hell knows just how good this one will be.

Didn’t really believe there would be more horror on the way, well guess again as The Devil’s Rejects is on its way. A sequel to the 2003 Rob Zombie fright flick House of 1000 Corpses, which managed to pull in a whopping $12.5 million, yeah it really deserved a sequel.

Our final horror for the year is the one still without a story as the script is currently being hashed out, but we can tell you that Saw 2, the sequel to the surprise hit Saw, will be released October 28, 2005 and will continue the story of a deranged, sadistic serial killer who is abducting morally wayward people and forcing them to play horrific games for their own survival. Faced with impossible choices, each victim must struggle to win back his/her life, or else die trying…

Helen Hunt is back in the fray and she is bringing Tom Wilkinson and Scarlett Johansson in the 2005 rom-com A Good Woman, a scandalous yet comic story set in New York and the Italian Riviera during the 1930s. Mrs. Erlynne (Hunt) is an audacious and well-known woman of a certain age with a reputation for entertaining wealthy, married men. Leaving her problems and unpaid bills in New York, she sets sail for Italy to pursue Meg (Johansson) and Robert Windermere (Umbers), one of the most high profile couples in 1930s society. Once in Europe, she becomes embroiled in a family scandal which becomes an intriguing story of seduction, betrayal and, ultimately, surprising loyalty.

A film that was expected to release this year, Fierce People, starring Diane Lane and Donald Sutherland has been pushed to an undetermined date in 2005.
The drama revolves around a woman (Lane) who, hoping for a better life, moves with her son into a world of wealth and privilege after the son has a brush with the law. When the woman is attacked, their new life is shattered.

With her sister in The Dukes of Hazzard it is only fitting that Ashlee Simpson find herself a movie role as well as she has a small part in the Lions Gate release Wannabe, could that be a direct comment on Ashlee herself?
The romantic comedy is set in the world of up-and-coming artists, telling the story of an aspiring model who falls in love with a struggling musician when they suddenly cross paths on a NY subway train.
