There is no doubt that Iron Man is one fo the coolest looking superheroes on the Marvel block so with the gossip brewing around the Iron Man feature film it was hard to not report info until now.
I skipped reporting a rumor that I can’t possibly see coming to fruition when The IESB was reporting a scoop overheard on the set of The Fantastic Four claiming Rob Lowe may be in the running to play Iron Man, but now that some solid news on the comic adaptation has come in I felt I could finally toss that gossip into the mix.
As for the goods IGN FilmForce has come up with some good bits of info on Shellhead’s approach to the big screen.
Apparently the New Line Cinema film is finally being shopped around looking for directors and hopes to begin production sometime in early 2005. Just yesterday IGN broke the news that The Mandarin is no longer the villain of the movie and Tony Stark will be facing-off against his own father, military industrialist Howard Stark.
On top of that other characters from the comic you can expect to see are Jim “Rhodey” Rhodes, a Marine pilot who went to work for Stark International as Tony’s personal pilot and chief aviation engineer.
