Variety reports that Hideo Nakata, the director of the original film Ringu, which inspired DreamWorks thriller The Ring is in negotiations to helm the follow-up sequel The Ring 2.
This announcement comes just days after it was announced that the original director Noam Murro, had dropped off the pic. Nakata also helmed the Japanese sequel Ringu 2, but it has been confirmed that Ehren Kruger’s Ring 2 script will not follow that storyline.
