SCI FI Wire got a chance for a little Q&A with Resident Evil: Apocalypse star Milla Jovovich and the convo turned to her next action/sci-fi flick Ultraviolet, a film set in the late 21st century, a subculture of humans have emerged who have been modified genetically by a vampire-like disease (Hemophagia). Sound a little RE eh? Well, shooting just ended and Jovovich was open for discussion and ready to squash comparisons.
“I just got back last month… It’s super cool. It’s very different from Resident Evil, but it’s a sci-fi movie, and there is a virus in it. But those are the only similarities.”
Jovovich continued, “My character … [has] this sickness,” she said. “It’s an epidemic that’s spread in the world where all sicknesses have been cured, … except for this one epidemic that the government has created and in a way [is] using for their own benefit. But it gets out, and they’re trying to annihilate everybody that has it. Now the people that have it realize what’s going on and go underground.”
The film also stars Godsend‘s Cameron Bright among others and is directed by Kurt Wimmer. For the rest of the article click here and for more on Ultraviolet click the link below.
