SPY HUNTER and SERENITY Teaser Art Revealed!

Two of the highly anticipated films of Universal’s 2005 slate have got to be The Rock starrer Spy Hunter based on the popular Midway video game and Serenity based on the television series “Firefly” which attracted a cult following and has become a best-selling DVD with a worldwide fanbase and RopeofSilicon.com has your first look at the covers of two of the sell sheets for the films, which are due out next year.

Spy Hunter will star The Rock as Secret Agent Alec Sects in the high-octane espionage action-adventure movie based on the popular video game Spy Hunter by Midway Home Entertainment Inc., which will also be developing an innovative Spy Hunter 3 game for multiple platforms in 2005. The film will boast the G-6155 Interceptor – a high speed, high-tech counterintelligence vehicle that can transform into a speedboat, a turbo Jet Ski, a motorcycle and much, much more. Spy Hunter will be directed by John Woo and is expecting a Summer 2005 release.

As for Serenity, “Firefly” fans the world-round will get a look at an original sci-fi adventure based on the acclaimed “Firefly” series, in which a small band of galactic outcasts 500 years in the future eke out a living pulling off small crimes and transports-for-hire aboard their ship, Serenity. When they take on two new passengers, they find themselves at the center of a deadly hunt that pits Serenity against the greatest forces in the galaxy. Joss Whedon, the Academy® and Emmy-nominated writer/director of the worldwide television phenomena “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel”, makes his feature film directorial debut with the futuristic action-adventure. Just like Spy Hunter an innovative action-adventure video game, and an exciting multi-titled publishing program will expand the Serenity universe.
