Summit Entertainment has acquired feature rights to the romantic comedy Kicked, Bitten and Scratched, set in the world of animal training.
Variety says the project is based on Amy Sutherland’s books “Kicked, Bitten and Scratched: Life and Lessons at the World’s Premier School for Exotic Animal Trainers” and “What Shamu Taught Me About Life, Love and Marriage.”
Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky are writing the screenplay, centered on a fast-talking Los Angeles Times reporter and her laid-back comic book artist husband who wants her to have a baby. When an assignment takes her to a school for exotic animal training, she discovers a possible cure for her marriage problems.
