Welcome to ComingSoon.net’s look at all the top entertainment hitting this week on Blu-ray and DVD. Check out the gallery viewer below for a look at all the major new releases, television season sets and catalogue titles hitting the shelves today, April 14, 2015.
Big Eyes kicks things off this week with the recent Tim Burton drama that won Amy Adams a Golden Globe Award. Also recently on the big screen, Jennifer Kent’s truly terrifying The Babadook, the crime thriller Kidnapping Mr. Heinken (starring Sir Anthony Hopkins), David Cronenberg’s haunting Hollywood tale Maps to the Stars and the Hammer sequel The Woman in Black 2 are now available.
Debuting directly to Blu-ray and DVD are both DC Comics’ animated Batman vs. Robin and, a live-action sequel presented by and starring RZA, The Man with the Iron Fists 2.
Last’s year’s documentary I Am Steve McQueen comes home courtesy of Shout! Factory, whose diverse slate this week also includes an Eddie and the Cruisers / Eddie Lives! double feature (the HD debut for both titles), the complete “Heavy Metal”-inspired Metal Hurlant Chronicles, the aforementioned The Babadook and, in a collector’s edition, the punk apocalypse cult classic Class of 1984.
The Criterion Collection, meanwhile, adds another Carol Reed title with the tense 1947 noir thriller Odd Man Out and also upgrades Preston Sturges’ screwball comedy masterpiece Sullivan’s Travels to Blu-ray.
Finally, on the small screen, the critically-acclaimed British miniseries “The Missing” arrives, offering all eight chapters on two Blu-ray discs.
