British actor Idris Elba has joined the cast of Screen Gems’ bank heist thriller Bone Deep, playing a member of a group of bank robbers enlisted in pulling off a $20 million heist.
Overbrook Entertainment’s Will Packer is producing, with John Luessenhop directing. Luessenhop co-wrote the screenplay with Avery Duff, Gabriel Casseus and Peter Allen. Casseus also is an executive producer on the project.
The film stars Matt Dillon as Los Angeles Det. Jack Welles, a troubled workaholic who pursues the gang of robbers.
