AMC has announced this afternoon that their upcoming “Breaking Bad” prequel-spin-off series “Better Call Saul” will debut on Sunday, February 8 with the second episode airing the next night on February 9. In addition, a brand new teaser for the series has debuted and can be viewed in the player below.
Bob Odenkirk leads the series as the titular Saul and is joined by Jonathan Banks as Mike Erhmantraut, Michael McKean as Chuck McGill, Rhea Seehorn as Kim Wexler, Patrick Fabian as Howard Hamlin and Michael Mando as Nacho Varga – characters that will represent both legitimate and illegitimate sides of the law.
“Better Call Saul” is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside and often against Jimmy is “fixer” Mike Erhmantraut, a beloved character first introduced in “Breaking Bad.” The series will track Jimmy’s transformation into a man who puts the criminal in “criminal lawyer.”
“Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan directed the first episode of the series, which has already been greenlit for a second season of 13 episodes. The first season will consist of 10 episodes and air Sundays at 10 P.M.
