SZA Reveals Taylor Swift Is ‘Open’ for Collaboration

A future Taylor Swift and SZA collaboration might not be completely out of the question. The “Kill Bill” hitmaker revealed that she once extended an offer to collaborate with Swift. “She’s so bossed up,” gushed SZA, adding that Swift was open to it.

Is Taylor Swift collaborating with SZA?

Music fans are buzzing with excitement as they speculate about a possible Taylor Swift and SZA collaboration in the future. The prospect of the Grammy-winning singers teaming up could be on the horizon. SZA recently revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show that she mentioned to Swift her desire to write for her.

“It’s so interesting to me. Every time she walks up to me or approaches me, I’m just like, ‘All right, this is happening, because that’s fully Taylor Swift,'” explained SZA. “I think what I mentioned was that I would love to write with her and love to build some things together.”

“I love her storytelling,” she continued. “She was open to it.” SZA also praised the “Fortnight” singer’s personality. She added, “I think she’s awesome. She’s so bossed up.”

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift fans are convinced that “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” is set for a 2025 release. The singer recently teased an Easter egg during her iHeartRadio Awards 2025 acceptance speech. The “Cruel Summer” singer sported her signature red lip and a snake chain in the video speech.

Swift’s red lips and snakes have also been her go-to thematic references for her “Reputation” era. So, fans think the singer could be subtly hinting at the album’s re-release this year. Additionally, Swift has previously mentioned that the songs of “Reputation” will be very “goth-punk” and “female rage” coded.

Swift was candid about the process of re-releasing “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” in her Time interview in 2023. She gushed, “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” will represent “a goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure.”

Swift’s album re-release may also introduce new featured artists to the tracklist. The original version showcased Ed Sheeran and Future as collaborators. Notably, in a 2024 New York Times ranking by Caramanica, the album secured the top position among Swift’s eleven studio releases.
